Day 1 Relax and enjoy your cocktail

Arrival in the afternoon and check in at Guayabo Lodge. You will receive a welcome cocktail at our ‘Smoky Volcano Bar’ . You now have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings you are in, walk around the gardens, read or participate in an optional Tropical Cooking Class or Garden Course Module*. Dinner at the lodge will be served at 7 pm.

Day 2 Rafting Adventure

After breakfast you will be picked up for you first adventure tour: rafting on the famous Pacuare River. This river is regarded as one of the top ten rivers in the world for white water rafting. You will experience class III and IV rapids and during your trip you will enjoy breathtaking sceneries of rainforest, waterfalls and wildlife such as sloths, monkeys and many different bird species. People from all over the world travel to Turrialba just to experience the rapids of this unique river. During the trip you will have lunch on the river bank. You will arrive back at the lodge around 5 pm. Dinner at the lodge will be served at 7 pm.

Day 3 Choose from 2 tours:

1. Quad tour to the Aquiares Waterfall (2 pax min.)
After a good breakfast you will be heading off to a 2 hour quad tour (10 to 12 am) that will take you to the Aquiares waterfall. You will pass through scenic rural areas, the little town of Aquiares (part of the oldest coffee estate of the region), and down to the famous waterfall on the Turrialba River. Back at the lodge a hearty lunch will be waiting for you. The rest of your afternoon is free.

2 Canyoning and Rappelling (2 pax min.)
This popular sport is a 3 to 4 hour adrenaline adventure involving rappelling trees and descending cliffs and waterfalls and zip lining through the treetops. Rated as the best canyoning experience in Costa Rica, the Turrialba canyoning site also includes walking across a 40mt. hanging bridge. The tour includes a lunch in Turrialba after which you will be dropped off at the lodge. Dinner will be served at 7 pm.

Day 4: Garden and birding tour; check out and departure

After an early breakfast, you will be taken on a beautiful tour with our Nature and Bird specialist. This tour is a wonderful way to get to know the flora and fauna of the Tropical Cloud Forest Region. The tour will be given from 8 to 10 am, after which you will be offered a snack (fruit juice, coffee or tea, cake). Sadly this is your last day at the lodge. Don’t forget to check out before 12 am!
