We will give you an Introduction to the Cooking Tour you are taking with us and the special region you are in. At 7pm you will be served dinner at our Granadilla Restaurant.

Day 2

After a good breakfast, head down to the Turrialba Valley and go to the most beautiful Tayutic Hacienda, where you will be doing the Macadamia, Sugarcane and Coffe Tour. This tour will immerse you into the traditional Costa Rican way of living and the main tropical agricultural products of the Turrialba Valley. Gardens and views at the Hacienda are astounding, so you will enjoy this tour in every possible way. After lunch at the hacienda, head back to Guayabo Lodge for your afternoon cooking class. During this session you will learn more about tropical products and how to use them. With the help of a skilled instructor, you will be preparing a three course meal which you will enjoy at dinner time, with a good glass of our South American hose wine and some good music.

Day 3

We are in one of Costa Rica’s richest regions as for bird and plant species. Because of its strategic setting as a natural pathway to South America and to the North, the differences in altitudes and the abundant rainfall, the Turrialba area possesses an undocumented richness that includes species that are found nowhere else in the country, like the ‘Guaria Turrialba’, (Cattleya dowiana), known as the most beautiful natural Cattleya orchid species in the world. This morning you will be doing our Extended Garden and Bird Tour, with a specialized guide that will introduce you to the richness and beauty of the area you are in. At the end of the tour you will be taken to a charming local agro farm restaurant, where you can enjoy fresh trout and local cheeses. After lunch head back to the lodge where you will be immersed into your chocolate and spices class. Learning about and using different ingredients in different recipies. At the end of the class you will savour all you have made with some tea and coffee. Dinner at the lodge will be served at 7 pm with a glass of our South American house wine.
